Deepwater Well Engineering
This course is intended to introduce the new technologies that helped drilling through deepwater reservoirs. Deepwater operators as well as equipment and service providers have faced great challenges to be able to safely explore and produce in deep waters maintaining all safety measures and control of work.
The course introduces drilling design and operations in deepwater wells. It is designed to give drilling engineering professionals an understanding of the technology, processes, and equipment used to drill deepwater oil and gas wells. The course will demonstrate a typical deepwater drilling program and drilling process from geology setting.
who attend this course:
drilling engineers, drilling supervisors, and other petroleum professionals that are new to deep water (DW).
Objectives:
- Identify and calculate kick tolerance ,well control constraints
- Understand technologies and design methodologies unique to the DW environment.
- Analyze offset well data important for DW well design and planning methods
- Identify the risks related to rig selection in addition to floating operations .
- Manage logistics and unique equipment.
- upgrade and develop designs for DW drill strings, BHAs, and landing strings
- well design issues for both riserless and post-riser phases of well construction
- understanding drilling fluids for a DW well; assess and address any unique issues
